Drains & sewer
Emergency plumbing in Springdale and Northwest Arkansas
A burst pipe, water coming through a ceiling, a backup, or a water heater that quit. Stop the water first, then call or text for the soonest available time.
Chapter 01
Is this an emergency?
Three situations qualify. Active water: a burst pipe, a ceiling drip, water spreading under a sink, or water anywhere near electrical. Sewage: several drains backing up together, gurgling that is getting worse, or a sewage smell. Loss of service: sudden low pressure, a water heater that has failed, or a tank that is leaking.
If you are not sure which side of the line you are on, call anyway. Describing what you see is how a problem gets sorted into urgent or can-wait, and nobody at A Plus Plumbing will mind a call that turns out to be a Tuesday-afternoon repair.
A suspected gas issue is different. Leave the building, call your gas utility or emergency services, and call the plumber only once it is safe.

What to do right now, before anyone arrives
Shut off the water. The main water valve, or the valve near the fixture that is leaking, is the single biggest damage-stopper you control. Do it first if you can reach it safely, and move anything valuable out of the wet area.
Think about power. If water is near outlets, appliances or a water heater, do not touch anything wet. Cut the power at the panel only if you can do that safely, and leave it alone if you cannot.
Stop using water. For a backup or a clog, do not run sinks, toilets, the dishwasher or laundry until the cause is diagnosed. Every gallon you send down a blocked line has to go somewhere, and it is usually your lowest fixture.
Chapter 03
The problems this call covers
Burst pipes and leaks: broken pipe, a leak under the slab, a dripping ceiling, a failed fixture, a supply line that let go. Backups and clogs: toilets overflowing, main line trouble, drains that will not clear and keep gurgling. Water heater failures: no hot water, a leaking tank, pilot or ignition trouble, or a pressure relief valve that is discharging.
A Google reviewer describes how it goes when the cause turns out to be simple: “Adam arrived and within 5 minutes had figured out the issue and we had hot water again.” Either way, you get a diagnosis first, then the options laid out, then the work.
