Garbage Disposal Repair & Installation in Northwest Arkansas

Humming, jammed, leaking or dead. We clear it safely and repair it, or install a new unit with leak and drain checks before we leave.

Chapter 01

Humming, jammed, leaking or dead

Disposal trouble sorts into a few familiar patterns. A unit that hums but will not grind is usually jammed. One that will not turn on at all may have tripped a reset, lost power, or failed. A leak under the sink can come from loose fittings, worn seals or a cracked housing.

Loud grinding or rattling often means a foreign object or worn internals, and we remove the debris and inspect before calling it. Bad odors are usually food buildup and biofilm, and we recommend safe cleaning steps and checks.

A slow drain or a backup is the one to separate carefully. It can be the disposal and its drain connection, or a deeper clog in the kitchen line, and the fix is different for each.

Repair it, or replace it

Repair makes sense when the unit is jammed without internal damage, when the trouble is a reset or a power problem, or when a drain connection has loosened. Those are quick, honest fixes on a disposal worth keeping.

Replacement is the better answer for a cracked housing or a leak that keeps coming back, for repeated failures or severe noise, and for an old unit that has gone weak. If you want quieter operation, we can install an upgrade, and standard same-style replacements are routine.

Bought a unit yourself? We install customer-supplied disposals. The photo above shows a new unit under a kitchen sink with the dishwasher hose connected.

Chapter 03

What install day looks like

We inspect the unit, the power and the drain connections, confirm whether it is jammed, leaking or finished, and give you clear options before work starts.

Then we repair or replace and test both halves of the job: the grinding and the drainage, with the dishwasher line connected properly and no leaks under the sink. Clean-up and a short walk-through of basic use finish the visit.

Until we arrive, switch the disposal off at the wall switch and keep your hands out of it. If the sink is backing up or water is leaking under it, call or text (479) 305-9107 and tell us what you are seeing.

What moves the cost of a disposal job

The factors are repair versus replacement, the unit type and quality including horsepower, the condition of the drain and mounting hardware, and any updates the connections need.

A firm number usually needs eyes under the sink. Once we have diagnosed it you get your options first, for homes in Springdale, Bentonville, Rogers and Fayetteville alike.

Garbage disposal questions

A hum means the motor is getting power but the grinding plate cannot turn. That is most often a jam, and less often a seized flywheel or a failing motor. Switch the disposal off at the wall switch first, and never put your hand or fingers inside, even when it is off. Many units also have a reset button on the bottom that trips after a jam. If it keeps humming, call us and we will clear it safely, check for internal damage and confirm it spins before we leave.

Yes. We install customer-supplied units and confirm the mounting, the connections and leak-free drainage.

It can be either. We work out whether the trouble sits in the disposal and its drain connection or deeper in the kitchen line, so you are not paying to fix the wrong thing.

Water under a kitchen sink can come from the disposal housing, a loose fitting, the dishwasher hose or the drain. We trace it to the source before recommending a repair or a new unit.
